DreamCatcher Photography is a Rustenburg-based photography studio built on a simple love for capturing real moments, real people, and real stories.

Founded around 2010–2011, DreamCatcher started as a passion project. In the early days, photography happened on weekends only, balanced alongside full-time day jobs. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into something much bigger — a business shaped by years of experience, dedication, and a deep appreciation for meaningful memories.

Our photographer, Hannie, has completed formal photography training and certificates, and brings both technical skill and a warm, personal approach to every shoot. Whether it’s a quiet newborn moment, a joyful family session, or a styled mini shoot, the focus is always on making clients feel relaxed, comfortable, and truly seen.

We work from a large, fully equipped studio in Rustenburg, offering multiple setup areas to suit different styles and moods. We’re also lucky to have access to a beautiful garden, which we regularly use for outdoor sessions when natural light and fresh air add that extra magic.

Throughout the year, we host special themed mini sessions — from Valentine’s and Christmas shoots to fun, creative concepts like gardening themes, purple flower crowns, spa days, and more. These sessions are designed to be relaxed, affordable, and full of personality.

Cake Smash / Themed Birthday

We are well known for our cake smash and themed birthday sessions, which are a fun and memorable way to celebrate a special milestone — whether it’s a first birthday or a celebration for young or old. These sessions are playful, relaxed, and designed to let personality shine through.

Each session includes a beautifully styled setup based on your chosen theme or colours, with our photographer guiding the shoot while allowing plenty of time for natural moments. From sweet smiles to full-on cake fun, we capture it all, creating joyful images you’ll love looking back on.

Portrait / Basic

Our basic portrait sessions are ideal for individuals, couples, children, or families looking for clean, natural images without the fuss. These sessions are relaxed and easy-going, with gentle guidance to help you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera.

Maternity

Newborn

Our newborn sessions are soft, calm, and completely baby-led, allowing plenty of time for feeding, settling, and cuddles. We work gently and patiently, creating a relaxed environment where your baby’s comfort always comes first.

Milestone

Milestone sessions are perfect for capturing your child as they grow, whether they’re sitting, crawling, standing, or reaching any special stage in between. These sessions are fun, relaxed, and centred around your child’s natural personality.

We allow your little one to move, explore, and be themselves while we capture genuine expressions and real moments. The result is a beautiful snapshot of this stage in their life, preserved in images you’ll always treasure.

Boudoir

Our boudoir sessions are all about confidence, self-love, and celebrating you in a tasteful and empowering way. These shoots are relaxed, respectful, and guided gently to help you feel comfortable and confident throughout the session.

For privacy reasons, we don’t often share boudoir images publicly, which means our portfolio includes limited examples.

Special Mini Sessions

Our special mini sessions are fun, themed shoots offered at selected times of the year, such as Christmas minis, Valentine’s, Lego sessions, spa days, and other creative setups. These sessions are shorter and more playful, making them perfect for something a little different.
